A Great Days Fishing

This superb rainbow, the heaviest of the day was taken by Chris Stuart from Edinburgh fishing alongside uncle Mark Lawler out in a Drummond Estate Boat on the 10th May 2014. The huge fish tipped the scales at 10lbs after taking a 13½g Corroboree Frog Tasmanian Devil trolled close to the Fish Farm in Ardveich Bay. It took around fifteen minutes to get the fish into the boat.He then lost another rainbow reckoned to be nearer 15lbs at the boat after it took the same lure. Between them they had nine fish for the day and kept five with another two brownies and two rainbows coming in at 4lbs 12ozs.Quite a number of the portion sized fish were taken on the fly on a floating line with the Hare's Ear, Kate Mclaren, Bibio and Pheasant Tailed Nymph the most successful patterns.
14lbs 12ozs
